Fein Cera

Bay Holstein mare, born 1991, line 3615
Breeder: Harm Thormählen, Kollmar

Fein Cera was always a very striking mare. And she could certainly jump – even if she made an in-out of the series of jumps set up the first time she tried free jumping and the poles went flying!! But the second time she was guided into the course, the beautifully modelled Landadel daughter showed her special, inherent class.

After giving birth to a filly named Kleine Cera by Calato in 1995 when she was four, she won the State Championships with Philipp Baumgart and competed in the Bundeschampionat. Her first tests in advanced level courses were piloted by Karsten Huck before Alison Firestone took over in the saddle. For some reason the right harmony did not set in between Fein Cera, who had unbelievable ability to jump, and her American rider and she was passed on to Peter Wylde who rode her to victory in the Grand Prix of Stuttgart in 2001.

With her new American rider, Fein Cera won individual bronze in the 2002 WC in Jerez – and remained the best horse in the Final with four clear rounds. Numerous first and other placings in World Cups, Grand Prix and Nations Cups followed and in 2004 the couple won team gold in the Olympic Games in Athens/GRE.

In the meanwhile, Fein Cera has also returned to Hof Thormählen where she will be a broodmare.
